Did I just say that?!

I have said so many things as a mom that I can't believe I would have ever said! Tonight when I told Brock that I would like to do the dishes so he could take the kids outside to play (did I just ASK to do the dishes so I could get a moment to myself?!), I was thinking about some other funny things I have said at some point...

-The carpet is not used for wiping your nose.
-We don't sit on things without our underwear on.
-Today was a good day - I got the dishwasher unloaded AND the kids' nails cut!
-Please let me go to the grocery store.
-We only go tinkle on the potty, not anywhere else.

Here are some new pictures of the kiddos. I think I have a serious addiction to my camera. I transferred 550 pictures just for the month of April, and the month's not even over yet! Yikes! I just know this time goes by so fast and I want to remember it all...

I don't know if you can see it in the picture, but Mia LOVES this flag (you know, the one that says your lawn just got fertilized?) We even had to bring it in the car the other day...

She loves playing soccer with Daddy. Some after-dinner fun in the yard...

Videos!

Oh, where to start! Drake finally broke one of his bottom teeth Monday, and I think the other will be through by tomorrow. But in the meantime, he hasn't been sleeping well AT ALL! Very frustrating. He's not taking good naps during the day or sleeping well at night. I definitely feel like we're back in 'survival' mode just trying to make it through our days and nights. Thankfully he isn't fussy during the day, but it sure makes the rest of us crabby when he doesn't sleep! Mia has been so sweet to him, always making sure he has what he needs whether it's a bib, toy, blanket, or pacifier (which she ALWAYS thinks he needs!). She just loves him, and he really gets a kick out of her. It's really fun to watch them interact. This first video is Drake laughing. How could it not make you smile?! He is honestly one of the happiest babies I have ever seen. :)

The next video is kind of long, but I couldn't resist posting it. Mia loves making Drake laugh, so I got a little of that on film. And I love how she goes to get her doctor bag to check him out because she said he "has a little gas"! It's even funnier because it's true!

Pictures

Just some new pictures to share! And what a bummer - I don't even have the two of them together all dressed for Easter! Not too much new except that Drake is in the thick of teething right now. His bottom two are ready to pop through at any moment, we can see them under the gums. It sure has been keeping him (and us) up at night!
Drake found his tongue a few weeks ago, and it hasn't found its way back in his mouth yet!

Drake and Piper, my cousin Sarah's baby, at Easter (and those are sheet marks on his head, not a rash!!)

Searching for eggs!

Sharing her little candies :)

Loves when Daddy tosses her in the air!

Drake is always hanging on to us with his little hand - it is the sweetest thing...

My mom took Mia to Build-a-Bear for Easter. She had a great time! Here is Mia and her bunny, Claire

More pictures coming soon!

So we took tons of pictures this last weekend with Easter, but I still have to go through them. We have some cute videos too of Mia searching for eggs around our house. When I get a chance I'll post them, but for now here is one of my favorite pics we took recently. Hope you all had a great Easter! Drake is 6 months today, I can't believe it!!

Peter who??

In anticipation of Easter, Mia keeps singing Here Comes Peter Cottontail; however, she keeps singing it Peter Cock 'n Tail. Sorry, I know that is inappropriate, but it is so funny when she says it because she does not let us correct her! We keep saying, "Mia, it's Peter COTTONtail," but she's not having it. Her new thing to do when we are out in public is to tell me she has to go potty. As soon as we get in the bathroom, she starts singing as loud as she can. I think she likes the echo. Sometimes she sings Happy Birthday, sometimes it's Rock a Bye Baby, I'm a Little Teapot, whatever. I'm nervous next time we're out that it will be Here Comes Peter Cock 'n Tail!

I've been moving some furniture and decorations around my house lately, and poor Miss Mia freaks out about any change I make. I always have to do it when she's sleeping because it's that much more traumatic when she sees me move something. This weekend I had moved an end table in my living room, and of course she noticed it when she got up from her nap (seriously, this is the child that at 18 months noticed when I changed the color of my toenail polish!). This is what she said when she noticed the end table: "Oh no, Mommy! That does not look very good in there! It's making me sick! It's making me sick - it's making me sad..." I almost fell over I was laughing so hard on the inside, although her poor little face was so red because she was so upset about the furniture being in a different spot. Then today I got a slipcover for a chair and ottoman (and again I had to put them on during her nap), and the first thing she said when she got up and saw it was, "Hey, we shouldn't try this here!" as she proceeded to push the ottoman over to the side. I asked her what she was doing, and she said, "I'm just pushing this over here," like she could not have it in her space. She is definitely over the top.

Sunday morning she informed me that the side of the island was dirty, could she please have a rag (It was so dusty, and I had been meaning to get to it all week - but she beat me to it!). Here she is wiping it down... After that she asked me for some 'spray' so she could wipe down the countertops!!

Every day before her nap, we have to lay Drake down in her bed with her for a few minutes "with the blankets on, too"...

Such sweet little feet - loves the stickers!!
We definitely need to find this girl a belt :)My little man!!

Not a neat freak like his sister :)
