Yes, Mia has still been quite the character lately. More than once recently, that’s what we hear her telling Drake: “You’re getting on my nerds!” It makes me laugh every time. I told her once that it’s ‘nerves’ not ‘nerds,’ and she told me I was wrong. “That’s what they say in Toy Story, Mom.” Ok.
A few weeks ago, we were walking out of the store as another family was walking in. Mia says, "Mommy, those people have 3 children - one older girl, one little boy, and a baby. I sure hope they don't have a dog at home. That would just be too much to take care of." Ha!
School is out for the summer, we start swim lessons soon! I’m hoping that goes well, she’s a little unpredictable in new situations. Keeping my fingers crossed!
And the most exciting news yet – my sister Katie had her baby last weekend!!! Little Mason Daniel was born last Saturday, 6lbs 3 oz. Here are few hospital pictures, I got to see him very shortly after he was born. Auntie Angie has already taken his newborn photos yesterday, I can’t wait to work on those!
Introducing Mason!
He is so, so sweet! We’re so very excited they live down the street, we’ve gotten to see them close to every day since they’ve been home. Mia loves babies, and she just loves being around him. Congrats Katie and Tony!!
Here are a few photos from the past month -
Mia and I at her preschool’s Mother’s Day Tea:
The picture she painted me, we’ve hung it up in the toy room…
She’s getting good at making pictures – I thought this one was hilarious… she told me the strawberry-looking part is a garbage truck, and in the back is all the garbage
One day she had written out all her letters on the doodler and came to show me. Not too bad!!
Snuggling on the couch one morning. They are buddies.
Before her last day of school, posing
A couple of weeks ago, I took them to the zoo by myself for the first time. No diaper bag, no stroller – FREEDOM! We are movin’ up in the world! We had such a great time – we got there at about 11 and stayed until 3 – needless to say, they were wiped out!!
It’s taken me such a long time to get a shot of Drake in his ‘big boy bed’, but he looks so cute sleeping in there…
The 4 of us went to the zoo again last weekend – riding the train!!
A couple other quick funnies – on Mother’s Day, we had my family over for dinner. When my dad walked in, Drake said, “Happy Mother’s Day, Papa!”
Also, Mia is still her exacting self – there is not much room for error in her world. The other day she yells for me from upstairs, “Mom! There was a jammie shirt in my daytime clothes drawer! I think you guys put it in there because it has short sleeves. But it doesn't go in there!” Oh my.
We are finally enjoying some warm weather - hope your summer is off to a great start! Thanks for stopping by!
