It was just a matter of time...

I'm actually surprised it didn't happen sooner. But when Mia called me out of the kitchen the other day, I was glad my camera was close...

Notice Drake's scowl and Mia's smile. So typical! Also funny is that his first instinct when he picks up a marker is to pretend he is putting lipstick on. Of course Brock hates this (and the barettes in his hair), and he's constantly reminding me that Drake is pretending to put CHAPSTICK on. :) Poor guy, he doesn't have a chance with Mia as his sister. He needs a little male influence around here during the weekdays I think! My friend Jen had us over the other day, and Drake got to hang out with the boys - he loved it, and I understand why!!

I had gotten a new backdrop stand to do some new stuff, so I was 'setting up shop' in a few different rooms and trying to find some good light. Drake was not happy to help...

Mia was willing to help, but of course had to turn on the drama...

Hanging out with Daddy

This is one of the first times Mia has been out in the snow. (sad, I know) We had about 6 or more inches on the driveway, and there she was with her little yellow shovel helping us clear the driveway...

I think this is from the week he had 3 molars and 2 eye teeth break through. He was a bit grumpy...

And I thought the snow was over!

Just when I thought it was going to warm up, we got another snow storm! It's so cold outside that it isn't even worth getting the kids bundled up to go anywhere. So unfortunate, because just last week I took the kids for a walk in their wagon twice. I really thought we were on the up and up! They have been really good for being so cooped up, but you can tell they are starting to go a little stir crazy. Drake has been reduced to trying to play with the blender and the lamp, which he successfully pulled on top of himself today. Mia doesn't want to do anything but have me spin her in circles. Why is it that as we get older we get dizzy WAY faster than we did when we were kids? I finally had to put my foot down on the spinning today. I was like, "Mia, Mommy will dance and jump and skip with you, but no more spinning!" But of course, that's still all she wants to do. I can't wait until it warms up a little outside!


We moved Drake to the table with us instead of being in his high chair. It's actually his high chair without the tray that pulls up to the table. Unfortunately, all he wants to do is to stand up in his chair and crawl on the table. He thinks he's so clever, but it gets quite frustrating when he does it EVERY SINGLE TIME we sit down for a meal. He, however, thinks it's hilarious. Either it will get old and he will stop, or I will have to strap him in. He also started walking down the stairs without holding onto anything, not even the wall. He is so much more of a climber than Mia. I never worried about this kind of stuff with her!


You know those Corelle plates, the ones that aren't supposed to break when you drop them? Well, they break if you drop them. Drake pushed one on the ground, and it shattered everywhere! I couldn't find the dustpan and was kind of talking out loud to myself. I said, "Oh, Mia. What should we do?" She says, "I think we should get rid of Drake." It was hilarious. :)
