I’m pretty sure anyone with kids will tell you that when you have kids, you never run out of things to laugh about. Mia is hysterical, I wish I wrote down all the funny things she says. Most recently, here is how she ‘orders’ her lunch.
Me: “Meez, what would you like for lunch?”
Mia: I’ll have a peanut butter and jelly, half cut, 2 strips, pink bread, toasted. Please.
Ha! Seriously, the way she says it is like someone ordering a half-caf, low-fat, vanilla soy latte, hold the whip. And just in case you’re worried about the pink bread I’m feeding her, it just refers to the color of the package.
So lately Mia has been obsessed with spelling and sounding out words. “Have pen and paper, will travel” should be her motto. I have to hide my post-it pads because she will tear through those in a couple of days just writing words on them. It’s so cute. But she’s always saying her letters out loud trying to spell things. Or she’ll say something like, “Mom, what does T – G – P – L – O spell?” I’m trying to teach her that not just any letter combo makes a word.
Anyways, Drake is picking up on the whole letter thing as well since it’s all Mia talks about sometimes.
So we were in the grocery store this week, and he was just talking all boisterous-like for some reason. He was just being really loud. All the sudden he goes, “Mom! P – O – O – P!” Seriously? That’s the first word you spell, and it’s poop? I said, “Drake, do you know what you just spelled?” He goes, “N – O!” I’m being totally serious. Pure coincidence in what he was spelling, but it was hilarious. And he said it loud enough for all to hear. I was all, Let’s get out of here, guys. It’s nice when all the other moms are looking at you like ‘I’m glad you teach your kid how to spell poop.”
On to a few pics…
Not kidding, this is how Drake’s hair was one day when he woke up…
Another view, while holding his beloved Batman… is the hair a trip or what?! Don’t worry, we got him a haircut that next weekend.

So sweet – Mia is totally into her Leapster Explorer she got for her birthday. There is a little movie preview for one of the games you can get. It’s got superheroes, and Drake LOVES watching the preview. So Mia is holding him and letting him watch his “Mad Guys” as he calls them on her Explorer.
It was so nice this weekend, we took them to the IMA so they could get out and explore a bit

So we are almost on week number 3 without the pacifier at bedtime for Drake, and I’m not sure it’s getting better yet. Time number 1 of trying to get rid of the darn thing ended in a broken arm. Time number 2 ended when he decided his thumb was looking pretty good – I wasn’t willing to trade the pacifier for the thumb, so he got the pacifier back. So they say third time’s a charm. Here we are at time number 3, and even after 3 weeks he’s giving us a really hard time going down at naptime and bedtime. Hopefully this will get better soon! But I can’t complain – he’s done great in his big boy bed and is completely potty trained, even at night. But honestly – even after 3 weeks he still gives us a hard time about going to bed without his beloved dodo? I don’t get it!
I tell him, “Buddy, dodos are for babies. You’re a big boy now.”
He says, “No! Dodos are for Drake!”
Oh well, this too shall (hopefully!) pass.
Thanks for stopping by, hopefully you’re enjoying some sunny weather!!
